It wasn't the exotic dancer,

or even the burlesque drag queen,

but the dancing oil drums that distracted Dick Cheney from his poker game with the boys.

I joined the left sided masses to watch Fahrenheit 9/11 this weekend, it informed me of an outrageous rip off that even made my $10.25 cinema ticket seem sane. I'm not a big fan of fighting propaganda with propaganda, it did not change my mind in anyway or show me things I did not already know, but it was well put together and entertaining. Maybe it will convince a few moderates to swerve left in time to avoid a huge accident in November.

I wonder how many people saw Fahrenheit 9/11 and The Passion of Christ.

<guyPaulo> I wonder how many porno movies being made now are going to spoof "Passion of the Christ" with their title? Maybe "The Passion of Christina"?
<ElvisThePelvis> "The Splashing of Christ"
<ElvisThePelvis> "The Lashing Of The Christ"...oh wait, that's already in there...
<3Suns> The Passion of Christ 2: Electric Boca Monkey Dildo Boogaloo
<ajiav> I did not go to see Passion of the Christ, but I might the sequel as it is technically a zombie movie
<ajiav> It is my understanding that most theaters showing 9-11 were pretty packed...I am happy that so many people turned out to see the movie, I hope that a similar number of people will get registered and start voting
<Darlenenbc> You can go help register people and encourage them to vote you know. Just takes a stop by the DNC or *spit* the RNC office and get some forms. You can make sure mail in ballots are at the stores and post offices. You can put up yard sides for those that can't.
My vote now stands at 87 new voters and myself. where is yours?
<ajiav> I encourage people I know or talk with to follow issues and vote should it come up in conversation, but I don't usually go out of my way to this end. I don't really believe in helping anyone to vote aside from telling them where they can register, should they seem interested.

I think if a person is actually serious about voting, they should have to do it themselves. A person who makes the effort to register themselves is more likely to follow the issues and make informed, independent decisions, which is more important to me than whether or not my own beliefs come out winning in the short term.

I lean left, but I dislike dogmatic beliefs no matter where they are coming from...a dogmatic left might elect an ill-equipped Democrat for president, and ultimately that will prove bad for the left in the long term. If Democrats are to be in power, I want it to be because they are truly organized, have direction, and know where they are going. Dislike for Bush is not itself a direction, but I am hoping it will ultimately encourage people with liberal sympathies to make that individual effort, and ultimately strengthen the left. I do not by any means want a bunch of college kids who just saw Fahrenheit 9/11 running the country.

<ajiav> I say that as a college kid.
<guyPaulo> Vote for Cthulhu in '04!!!!! Bring back the Old Ones in November!!!
<Kumiho> Xelloss for President! Let's put a real Demon in power! And Buffy can be his vice-prez.
<H. Monkey> Vote Cthulhu! Why choose the lesser of two evils?
