I'm raving nuts!
Trying to get this birdseed out.

I'm raving! Nuts
about these V.S. models' butts.

But if I think that I can shout
that Natalie looks like a trout.
I'm raving nuts.

<yoyology> This is a rondelet. Unfortunately, the 8-syllable lines get wrapped on the Natalie picture.
<mypalmike> I thought it was Iambic Tetrameter.
<yoyology> Apples and oranges, Mikey. Rondelet is the name of the poetic form. It requires a strict rhyme scheme (AbAabbA) and a specific number of syllables per line (4848884) but doesn't specify how they are to be stressed.

Iambic Tetrameter refers to a metrical pattern of beats: four "iambs" of two beats each, with the stresses on the second beat (da-DAH da-DAH da-DAH da-DAH). The only line that strictly meets the criteria for iambic tetrameter in my poem is "But if I think that I can shout".

Hope this helps. :-)
<TJ Eckleburg> Mad props for the rondelet. If you can bust out a sestina, I'd bet Mort could arrange a meeting with at least one of the folks pictured today.

Limerick and rondelet - cool. Haiku - it's just counting syllables unless you can get the words to match the startling juxtaposition one expects in fine haiku.

Then again, if mostemailed isn't about startling juxtaposition, then I'm just staring at ash heaps.

<yoyology> It would be pretty hard to get a sestina to fit comfortably in the space provided, but I'll go for it. Probably tomorrow.
