The annual chili and beans cookoff began late last night in the Los Angeles basin.

By the early morning hours, the smog over the area had rendered vast swaths of land and ocean uninhabitable.

Nearly asphyxiated, dogs converged on the steps of the state capital in protest.

The challenge was to take the top 3 most emailed photos on yahoo and create a hopefully amusing story about the sequence. I reserve the right to refuse a disturbing picture, this includes any pictures of celine dion.
