Things fall apart; the center cannot hold.

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world....

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction; while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Where are the true heroes when we need them?

<yoyology> I know, it's not funny. It's sad and cynical. Today, so am I. Deal with it.

Oh, and today is Buy Nothing Day. See the details at ...www.adbusters.org...
<yoyology> The full text of Yeats' "The Second Coming" is at ...www.well.com...
<Luminaire> Damn, I'm a sucker for the literary adaptations, and this one's pretty brilliant. And it really is funny.

I already bought a Pepsi, so I guess I lose Buy Nothing Day.

<yoyology> I wish I'd been looking at the text of the poem when I did it. I would have made the last caption:
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man...
<Carol> Part of yoyology's insidious plan to make us all educated.
<yoyology> Well, I was an English teacher, and I'm currently a librarian. I can't exactly help it.
<Carol> I knew it, the compulsion to inform! I think it adds to the fun (or interest) when people do this.

<Carol> Oops - sorry. Too quick on the "Refresh."
<yoyology> That's okay. It boosted my rating from a 9.0 to a 9.0. :-).
