Minnesota lore tells of a great battle waged for the diamond of eternal youth. Many brave warriors were beaten to death with mighty war sticks. Their spirits rose to the heavens, becoming the stars above.

A giant lizard was charged by the Great One with quenching the thirst of the heavenly spirits. The water he carried was unruly and spilled over the tops of his buckets, so he made a giant orb of ice and carried it into the sky. This is the moon.

And the huge yellow disk whose golden tendrils bathe us all in warmth?

That is the head of a desirable woman.
