I almost saw Troy on friday, but it was completely sold out. I've heard totally different reviews, has anyone seen it?

<Carlos E Ferrero> Concerning that "Bad Neighbor" page... there is only one thing worse than a "Bad Neighbor": a person lacking the imagination, initiative, personal resources, energy, independence or whatever, to move away from such a dump!! Anyone who feels it is unavoidable to live in such a place is pathetic wretch!! |

<3Suns> I saw Troy and I thought it was great. It takes a lot of liberties with Homer, but if it was supposed to be a faithful adaptation they would have called it "The Illiad" instead of "Troy". The fight scenes are probably the best combination I've seen of epic battles (ala Braveheart or LotR) and personal duels (ala kung fu flicks). |

<guyPaulo> Troy was a great film in part because there was not a clear "good vs evil" for the battles. Agememnon was a bastard for sure, but it was easy to root for Achilles (Pitt) and Odyssious. This kind of moral reality is a nice touch. Eric Bana has a great performance as Hector, and Pitt is very believable as Achilles. Overall, the film was excellent. |

<Lauren> Great captioning today, Mort. |
<Mort> Thanks Lauren, I hope you are doing well today. I guess I will have to see Troy now, although I always prefered the stories of Odysseus's voyage after the war than the actual war itself. |
<Lauren> Right now there are 48 Mr. Nonames on the board. Welcome and where are you all from? |

<guyPaulo> Despite the no-names in the users section, the regular monkies have again succeeded in running off practically all non-reg contributors today. In my opinion, the reg monkies' captions are so good that newcomers are too intimidated to post. That, or we're all bullies. |

<Axolotl> Any monkeys getting invaded by brood X cicadas yet? We don't have them here in northern europe... |
<guyPaulo> I haven't spotted any here in the Southern US. I remember them from several years back. We incorrectly called them locusts at the time. The suckers molt and shed their skin, leaving behind a really cool little copy of themselves stuck on a tree truck. |
<3Suns> The cicadas are a terrorist plot. In arab countries, they're called "Al Si-Qaida". |
<Kumiho> ::giggles:: no cicades here, but I was up to my eyeballs in them last summer in Korea. |
<Lauren> I haven't seen any yet, but they are expected in my area, since they WERE here 17 years ago. |
<Jellyloo> Ok everyone get ready... Ok set? MAKE THE CICADA NOISE!!! |
<Suzy> i havent seen it but i am soon ill come back and tell you guys what happened!!
