I'm totally on an early childhood kick, first Ghostbusters and now Scooby Doo. The ghoul in that images looks just like the Scooby Doo ghouls, it has to be the Hampton Court janitor, or maybe the assistant to the strange scientist.

The rat picture is from 16th October, and is therefore Most Emailed Retro. I really wish the rat was Scrappy Doo.

<Lauren> I didn't watch TV much from 1973 to 1979 and then not at all from about 1979 through 1989, so I guess I missed a lot of pop culture stuff.

<Mort> Dammit Lauren that just child cruelty!

<Lauren> Nah, I was a (mostly) grown up and I just preferred other activities. In '79 I gave the TV away and didn't buy another until '89. I still don't have cable and, since I live in a city, only get two or three channels fairly reliably.

<Mort> Well then I will call you a Sociopath for not fitting into Social norms of watching 29 hours of tv a day.

<Lauren> Mort, TV is evil AND it can be hazardous to your health. It makes you fat by pinning you in a sitting (or lying) position and making you be still while force feeding you junk food ads. Plus, it's the most effective brain-washing tool ever invented. Please don't forget to wear your aluminum foil hat and goggles if you feel you must watch.

<guyPaulo> Tv's not THAT bad. Iron Chef, Crocodile Hunter, and Martha Stewart Living are all worth watching...

<Lauren> So they have you fooled, too, guy? I need to point out that these shows are all about people DOING really cool things ... while you sit on your butt watching.

<Mort> Sorry I don't know what I was thinking Lauren. You are totally right. I was at work until 7:30am, I must be very confused.

<Lauren> Mort, you simply must get a different job. The one you have seems to be interfering with your real life. I hope you took today off.

<guyPaulo> But Lauren, after watching IronChef/crochunter/MSL I always try to do the things they do. This often makes for enough comic hyjenks to fill a bad WB sitcom, but none-the-less, I attempt to parlee my TV gleenings into real life fun.

<mypalmike> I recently quit my ridiculously over-timed job to be a stay at home dad. Now I just have to find some children to take care of.

<mypalmike> Like guyPaulo says, TV can help guide your actions in life. For instance, my favorite show is COPS.

<Lauren> yoyology went to visit his brother (Minnesota?) for the weekend and then he was going to go to his folks for the holidays. He said he was trying to take a break from the internet. Fat chance. I bet we'll see him tomorrow... any takers?

<Mort> Yes!! Internet at home!! Now I can ignore the TV and the wife again!!

<Mort> Wow what does it say about me that both Internet and TV are in capitals, but wife is not...

<guyPaulo> Now that you have home Internet access, how many more hours a day are you going to devout to this site Mort? We are a clingy bunch for sure, and starved for attention.

<3Suns> It says that you follow capitalization rules, Mort. TV is an acronym and Internet begins a sentence, but wife is a plain now. If you had said "INTERNET" and "TV", that woulda been different.

Still, I don't want to give you too much credit. You are ignoring your tigress to post pictures on the web with a bunch of us geeks...
